This award goes to a Suffolk Secondary School that has
demonstrated how it supports gifted and talented pupils, has
shown how it actively engages those young people not otherwise
participating in PE and school sport and has encouraged pupils
of all ages and abilities to take part in sport and physical activity
during the last year. It also has good levels of students taking part
in extra-curricular activities.
As a network, we are passionate about
improving the sport and physical
activity provision in schools across
Suffolk by supporting; organising and
delivering inter school competitions.
In addition to this, we are responsible
for mapping and providing insight
into sport and physical activity within
schools and amongst young people in
Suffolk which is why we are honoured to
be sponsoring this award. The nominated
schools are all very strong contenders this
year and have all demonstrated a fantastic
level of commitment in supporting young
people to see the value in fulfilling an
active life in and out of school.

This award goes to a volunteer of any age who has made an
outstanding contribution to local sport in Suffolk, has helped
amateurs to participate in sport in the county and/or has
offered voluntary help that is not part of their job, without
financial reward. This could be an official, committee member,
helper or anyone else who deserves recognition for their
dedication.
It’s been another phenomenal year for sport in Suffolk with awe-inspiring
achievements coming out of towns and villages all over the county. The
passion which drives our sports men and women at every level is often there
for all to see, but what about the personalities that dedicate their hours to
training and supporting them along the way? It’s their stories that the BBC
Radio Suffolk Unsung Hero award celebrates, along with the volunteers
without whom many of the county’s sports clubs simply wouldn’t exist.
