Pathways Guide 2024 - Flipbook - Page 30
How to make your Pathway choices for Years 10/11
Once you have read
through the subject
information, you will
hopefully know which
subjects you want to
study at Key Stage 4.
Regardless of the Pathway that you are assigned to, you will
need to rank your choices in order of preference and also
select two reserve subjects.
You can use the form below to decide the subjects you wish
to choose, however, you will actually formally submit these in
school, during a PSHE lesson – there is no need to print this
form out.
You will also have found
out how you will be
assessed in terms of any
coursework and 昀椀nal
exams. If you are still
unsure and have some
further questions, please
speak to the teachers
listed on the subject
information pages, who
will be happy to help
you. Staff can also be
contacted via email
on the addresses listed
within the booklet.
You will need to make your choices in order of your preference
and insert a number in the column of your assigned pathway.
This means that you will place a ‘1’ next to the subject that you
most wish to study, a ‘2’ next to your second favourite, and
so on. Insert numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (for Red Pathway students
– 1 is already selected as Spanish), 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (for Blue
Pathway students) and 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (for Green Pathway
students). The last two subjects will be your reserve choices.
Please ensure that you read the requirements of each Pathway
carefully, these are outlined in white text at the top of each list.
Remember – please don’t choose a subject because your
friends have done so or because of the teacher. Timetables
change and academy staff do not always teach the same
subjects every year to the same age group. You will be following
these courses for the next two years and it is important to
choose subjects that you think you will enjoy and in which you
will do well because you are prepared to work hard at them.
Remember, you must make your choices from the correct
Pathway list.
If you are unsure of the Pathway colour assigned to you,
please email Mr Hawkes or Mr Clarke who are our Pathway
Coordinators.
