Improving health and wellbeing through physical activity is one of our key strategic aims.

Active Wellbeing is
a 3 year project in
partnership with Babergh
and Mid Suffolk District
Councils to support older
adults who are physically
inactive to become more
physically active.
Active Suffolk is working with the
John Le Vay, Cancer Information
Centre at Ipswich Hospital to
help those who are currently
undergoing, or have recently
completed cancer treatment as
well as the friends and family of
those living or effected by cancer
to become more physically active.
Two Rivers project has
provided a support
service to the surgery,
helping to not only
improve physical activity
levels in patients but also
to support the education
of staff concurrently.
Workforce
Fit Villages
Fit Villages is a wellestablished and
popular project that
makes a real difference
to local communities
by bringing people
together to socialise,
have fun and become
more active in their
local community.
This Girl Can
Active Suffolk is the strategic lead for the physical
activity and sport workforce in Suffolk. Developed
in 2019, the workforce strategy aims to broaden the
workforce enabling people in Suffolk to lead active lives
whilst ensuring it meets the needs of our local people.
Active Suffolk coordinate with the local
network of ambassadors to spread the This
Girl Can message at a local level. We offer
CPD opportunities and a network to share
engagement ideas.
We support the sector to:
Apply for and seek funding opportunities, Develop the workforce through training and CPD opportunities,
promote volunteering opportunities for, Provide the latest insight and data from the sector
