Topleader
Miles is in the Topleader Academy
after originally getting involved in
the Topleader progamme following
his PE teacher’s suggestion over a
year ago.
I referee and coach rugby in Bury
St Edmunds and I volunteer with
the first team to video the games.
I now also work as a waiter for a
wedding company - I was told that
I would not have got the job if it
wasn’t for the 230 voluntary hours
I had logged through the Topleader
programme, so the project has
really helped to enhance my CV.

Amy started volunteering in sport and joined
the Topleader programme when she was just 13
years old. She is now 18 years old and part of the
Topleader Acadmey and in early 2020, became the
youngest This Girl Can ambassador in Suffolk.
“I have gained a variety of skills through joining the
Topleader programme. Now I am a This Girl Can
ambassador I want to help empower other women
and girls to be active so they can overcome barriers
and change other people’s perception of women in
sport the way I feel I have.”
