Children & Young People
Active Suffolk work to empower younger people across the county to be active, to volunteer in sport and
ensure that safeguarding procedures are understood adhered to within the sports sector.
The projects:
Active Schools
PE and School Sport
The Active Schools project has been
created to bring together Primary
Schools, key partners and the wider
community to work collaboratively
to support the growing issues of
childhood excess weight and physical
inactivity among young people.
Active Suffolk lead on the Suffolk
PE and Sport Network, helping to
coordinate and deliver the annual
school games competitions and
provide support to PE teachers and
coordinators across the county.
This year’s successes
Topleader &
Topleader Academy
Both projects offer young people a
formal way to record their voluntary
hours in sport, whilst offering
mentoring and incentives, enabling
them to build their CV and develop
skills within the sector.
