’The Future, Our Business’
We offer high quality, impartial careers
guidance that helps pupils to make informed
choices about their future pathway and
what direction it is they want to travel;
this may be employment with training, a
course for further or higher education or
an apprenticeship. We are committed to
our Explore, Inspire, Create programme
as a vital means of giving all students the
skills, knowledge and understanding to
manage their own lifelong learning and
career development. This is developed and
delivered in both PSHE lessons and in Year 9
as a bespoke lesson once a fortnight.
Information, Advice
and Guidance
Explore, Inspire, Create will prepare
all students for the opportunities,
responsibilities and experiences of
education, training and employment
and also the challenges of adult life and
compliments the Edge tutor programme as
well as the Inspirational Futures events and
experiences.
One-to-one sessions with our Independent Careers Adviser are
available to all students on request
We host a range of ‘Advice and a Slice’ sessions at the school,
making use of our Inspirational Futures Hub. A range of
professionals have visited our students since we started
the programme including lawyers, accountants, healthcare
workers, employees from the media, journalists and a judge.
We also run regular Explore your Future sessions in our
Inspirational Futures Hub – any student is welcome. The aim of
the sessions is not to necessarily decide on a fixed career, but
to explore the options available.
We also offer a variety of experiences as an ‘Insight Into
Industry’ – where students will explore a variety of different
fields, either through workshops at school, virtual experiences
or trips on site.
