Science
Students at Stowmarket can look
forward to a rounded curriculum of
general Science at KS3 before being
taught by subject specialists at KS4 and
KS5. Lessons are heavily based around
practical work and build transferable
skills such as teamwork, organisation
and communication.
There is a clear focus on how Science
relates to the world around us and our
everyday lives; this is emphasised and
enhanced by the wide range of extracurricular activities offered including
STEM club at KS3, the STEMM award
at KS4 and KS5, trips to local, national and international institutions as well as bespoke experiences for those
students looking to pursue a career within the Science arena. Staff are enthusiastic in their teaching and aim to
inspire a love of Science in all of their students - having fun whilst learning is key!
Uniform
As we have moved into
the new build we have
adopted a new, smarter
and cost effective uniform,
after a full consultative
process. Blazers and
ties, no skirts, optional
jumpers and smart PE kit
make a statement about
our expectations and
standards. Smart and
functional, our uniform
looks great, and is
comfortable too!
